The Crown Hotel was originally a coaching Inn dating back to the 18th Century. The Crown has 8 en-suite bedrooms, and is located in the very centre of Glastonbury, overlooking the Cenotaph on Market Place. The Crown has a bar/restaurant on the ground and first floors and was completely refurbished to a very high standard in 2020.

Once surrounded by a tidal marsh, Glastonbury is cited as the legendary Isle of Avalon and is recognised as the cradle of Christianity in England. It was home to the richest Abbey after Westminster prior to its dissolution in 1539 by King Henry VIII. Glastonbury Tor is regarded as one of the most spiritual sites in the country, and its pagan beliefs are still celebrated by the many artisans, musicians, residents, visitors & healers to this magical and mystical town.

The Crown, with its central location, allows one to soak up the special atmosphere of the town over some food and a coffee, or perhaps something stronger, to the background of buskers doing their stuff. The Crown has four basic principles - good food, good drink, good service in clean warm surroundings where one can have most importantly good clean fun.

Car Parking :  The Crown is not in a position to offer private parking, but there are four separate public car parks close by. The closest is located directly behind The Crown, and the charges are modest (£5.90 for 24hrs, charges are levied between 9am and 6pm only). Electric Car Charging:  The nearest facility is 120 yards from The Crown at Glastonbury Town Council's St Dunstan's Car Park on Magdalene Street BA6 9EL.

Pets :   With the exception of seeing-eye dogs or any health-related assistance, pets are prohibited from entering The Crown. There is an outdoor seating area right in front of The Crown, where guests and their pets are very welcome.
